Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

You’ve experienced lack of safety, attachment injuries and trauma since you were young.

To cope with this pervasive feeling of threat, your nervous system has been forced to be in active survival mode (fight, flight, fawn, or freeze) to one degree or another in your entire life.

Maintaining a state of protection is enormously stressful, energy consuming, and compromises your nervous system’s ability to maintain your basic health and function.

Therefore, before you actually crashed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, you likely were dealing with recurring infections, hormonal imbalances, mini burnouts, injuries, and slower healing.

This inevitably overwhelms the nervous system’s active survival strategies, and it crashes into its option of last resort to protect you, passive survival strategies.

Passive survival strategies include shutdown, immobility, and energy conservation. Any attempt to go back to “activity” causes the crash to worsen because the nervous system deems any activity as dangerous, trapping you in passive survival mode.

In this mode hormonal function, cellular metabolism, immune function and symptoms all go fucking crazy.

But those biomarkers and symptoms are not the cause of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, they are the result of your nervous system being stuck in passive survival mode. That’s why everything you’ve tried to do to heal hasn’t worked, because they are focused on treating the effects, not the cause.

The way out of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome  is through the same way that you got into it – through healing and regulating your nervous system.
