9 Different forms of meditation

You can practice mindfulness anywhere, at any time. The gym, in your shower, before leaving the house. Meditation is allowing yourself to exist in whatever space you are in.


Mindfulness Mediation~ Paying attention to your thoughts as they pass through your mind without judgement and attachment. Brining awareness back. focusing on an object or breath while observing any body sensation, thoughts or feeling.

~People that don't have a teacher to guide them-easily practiced alone.











Spiritual~ reflecting on the silence around you and seeking a deeper connection with your higher power.

EO~ frankincense, myrrh, sage, cedar, sandalwood, palo Santo.

~Someone that thrives in silence and seeks spiritual growth.












Focused~ concentration using any of the 5 senses. If your mind does wander, come back to the present and refocus.

~needs additional focus in their life.















Movement~ may include walking through the woods, gardening and other gentle forms of movement.

~who finds peace in action and prefer to let their needs wander.












Mantra~ repetitive sound to clear the mind. Word, phrase or sound "OM". Become more alert and in tune with your environment. Allows for a deeper level of awareness.

~easier to focus on a word rather than breath. Doesn't like silence and enjoys repetition.












Transcendental~ mantra or series of words that are specific to each practitioner.

~like structure and maintaining a practice.












Progressive relaxation~ practice armed at reducing tension in the body and promoting relaxation. Slowly tightening and relaxing one muscle group at a time through the body. Encouraging an image of a gentle wave flowing through the body to help relieve tension (can be any image).

~Relieve stress and unwind before bedtime.






Loving-kindness~ strengthen feelings of compassion, kindness, and acceptance toward oneself and others. Opening the mind to recieve love from others and sending loving thoughts to anyone.

~helps with those that hold onto anger or resentment.













Visualization~ focused on enhancing feelings of relaxation, peace, and calmness by visualizing positive scenes or images. Image vividly while using all 5 senses. Imagining success at specific goal, which increases focus and motivation.

~Mood booster, stress reducer, promote inner peace.
